[BEGINNING OF TRANSCRIPT] [Maria Ngo] So we just wrapped a shoot with Ms. Cheryl Dyck here. And, with us is her husband, her rock, her supporter, Mr. Stan, the man here. So, how did you feel about the whole time because you’re there beside her going through all the hardships and her also went to grow a business and of course your family. How is that like for you?

[Stan Dyck] Very interesting to watch. When we had the children, I was fortunate enough to help raise the kids through the winter. I worked seasonally construction. So I was able to be home when she went back to work and spend four, five months with the kids. What impressed me the most is when I went back to work and she chose to do her thesis which was an effort in itself watching all the interviews she had to do. The work load was incredible. So, I was working twelve, fourteen, upward to sixteen hours a day. She’s home with the kids with two young children, plus going to school and working full-time and writing her thesis. So, for me to come home and then help her out, so, to see that work load. It was pretty impressive from my perspective to see that. So as a rock, yes, absolutely and to just see her keep working through that is amazing and through the family stuff too.

[Maria Ngo] You know I’d really think you guys are fantastic example of not only a strong, a family unit but a strong marriage. I do believe that you’re there for each other. How is it for you now that you’re looking back to all that you’ve accomplished together and of course you’re so proud of your kids who are doing extremely well. You said that they’re, I mean, they’re practically growing and they’re still doing family night. They would rather come, spend time with you than go out with their friends. I think that’s just incredible. So, how are you feeling now as you look back as a family unit?

[Stan Dyck] I think I mentioned earlier that to you when we were talking off camera that the the family is… We’re very tight.

[Maria Ngo] Yeah.

[Stan Dyck] We’re very, very blessed that our kids are so tight. I may not have had the same closeness with my family but it’s really encouraging to see my kids support each other. So, if one is going out the other one will support that person to make sure they get home that night. So, the kids aren’t always hounding us at night, to give us a call at three o’clock in the morning. I need a ride home. They look after that themselves.

[Maria Ngo] And this is my last question. I don’t mean to put you on the spot but do. So, for the spouses out there because you do have a very… You have a great strong woman, first of all, entrepreneurial who gets things done, right? I’ve heard her and have been working together for some time. So, I know, you know what she, what she’s like. What is your advice to anybody out there who has a spouse who wants to do something really big in their life? What is your advice?

[Stan Dyck] To definitely encourage that person to carry on, marriage is a relationship. It is, it is it a part of it, sorry, it is a partnership. And, there’s different positions that we hold. If it means her career is going to advance, I’m one hundred percent behind that. And besides that, it keeps me in the life style I’m accustomed to…

[Maria Ngo] haha…

[Stan Dyck] But that being said, no, it’s…

[Maria Ngo] ’cause you’re a golfer! haha…

[Stan Dyck] Because yes, exactly. No. It’s interesting because even we live on a bit of an acreage… So, I’ve always been an outdoors guy and so I make sure a lot of the stuff is functioning around the house. And I do work and I do work long hours but I’m fortunate enough to have some of the winter off so I can focus a little more on things around the house. So it’s, it’s just a support thing. It’s it, I, I can’t stress it enough it’s a strong enough relationship that you go on and do your thing and we do ours but we still get together.

[Maria Ngo] Okay. And so, Cheryl and I were trying to figure out how long they were married for a couple weeks ago. So, Cheryl, how long have you guys been married?

[Cheryl Dyck] We’ve been married for 29 years and together for 31.

[Maria Ngo] That it… That’s a long ass time, to be together! Well, congratulations and I can really see the love here. And, it’s just been so wonderful to meet both of you and to get to know you. Thank you.

[Stan Dyck] Thank you.

[Cheryl Dyck] Thanks, being awesome.
